A butter packaging machine is an automatic line that hygienically packs butter, clotted cream and cream in thermoformed cups, blocks or portions. The goal is to protect the product from light, oxygen and odours and to deliver the same weight in every pack.
Why packaging matters for butter
Butter is a high-fat dairy product: in contact with oxygen and light it goes rancid, and it readily absorbs surrounding odours. Thermoform packs made with barrier films reduce these effects and keep the product fresh.
Because the cup is formed in the machine, there is no need to stock pre-made containers. Changing the die switches the line to other weights and formats.
