Meat Vacuum Packaging Machine
A meat vacuum packaging machine is an industrial line that seals meat cuts, minced meat, meatballs and deli products in thermoformed packs using vacuum, MAP or skin pack. Unlike chamber vacuum machines it forms its own packs and runs fully automatically at high volumes.
Thermoform meat packaging vs. chamber vacuum machines
Chamber vacuum machines use pre-made bags and every pack is loaded and sealed by hand. On a thermoform line the bottom film is formed in the machine, the product is loaded, vacuum or gas is applied and sealing and cutting are automatic. Output per hour rises, every pack is consistent and labour drops.
Vacuum, MAP and skin pack: which for which meat?
Vacuum packaging gives cuts a long shelf life and supports ageing. For fresh meat and mince where the red colour matters, high-oxygen MAP gas mixes are typically used. In skin packs the top film wraps the product like a second skin, giving premium shelf appeal and reducing drip loss.
- Cuts and steaks: vacuum or skin pack
- Minced meat and meatballs: MAP
- Diced and marinated products: MAP or vacuum
- Sucuk, pastırma, deli: vacuum
Features of an Etrapack meat packaging line
Etrapack red meat lines run with high vacuum and MAP gas mixes, with deep vacuum from a 410 m³/h pump. Leak-proof sealing compatible with absorbent pads, a hygienic stainless steel body and the drawer-type die system are standard. The machines are CE-certified and manufactured in Ikitelli, Istanbul.
How is meat packed on a thermoform line?
- The bottom film is heated and formed to the product size.
- Meat is placed into the cavities, with an absorbent pad if needed.
- Vacuum, a gas mix or skin film is applied.
- The pack is sealed with the top film.
- Packs are cut, labelled and leave the line.

What is the difference between a thermoform meat packaging machine and a chamber vacuum machine?
Chamber machines use pre-made bags and manual loading. A thermoform machine forms its own packs and automates filling, vacuum, sealing and cutting for high-volume production.
How is the colour of red meat preserved in packaging?
High-oxygen MAP gas mixes are typically used to keep fresh meat bright red. Vacuum or skin pack is preferred for long shelf life and ageing.
What is skin pack?
In skin packs the top film is heated and drapes over the product like a second skin. The product stays in place, drip loss drops and the pack looks premium.
